7th Outing | A Perfect Day!

🇬🇧  We spent a truly unforgettable day at Quinta do Avelar, a charming and historic winery nestled in the heart of the Bucelas region, where the renowned Arinto wine has been lovingly crafted by this family. Surrounded by the quiet beauty of the vineyards, we delved into the rich history of Bucelas wines and the estate itself. We were guided through the fascinating process of wine making, tasting wines of different ages while sharing relaxed, heartfelt conversations. Thanks Nuno for this opportunity!

From there, we made our way to Barrete Saloio, a welcoming regional restaurant that captures the essence of traditional cuisine. Around a long, inviting table, we shared platters of traditional cheeses and linguiça, savoring every bite of the famous Bacalhau à Inácio (codfish with caramelized onions), and the deeply flavorful Cabrito no forno (goat in the oven). The meal ended on a sweet note with typical regional desserts.

What made the day truly special wasn't just the wine or the food, but the warm conversations that flowed as effortlessly as the wine in our glasses. We lingered at the table, soaking in the moment, reluctant to let such a perfect day come to an end. Cheers!

🇵🇹  Passámos um dia inesquecível na Quinta do Avelar, uma adega histórica situada no coração da região de Bucelas, de onde é oriundo o famoso vinho Arinto produzido por esta família. Rodeados pela serenidade das vinhas, mergulhámos na história dos vinhos de Bucelas e da própria quinta. Aprendemos sobre o processo de vinificação e provámos vinhos de diferentes idades enquanto as conversas correram descontraídas. Obrigado Nuno por esta oportunidade!

A seguir, fomos ao Barrete Saloio, um restaurante regional e acolhedor, que capta na perfeição a essência da gastronomia tradicional. À volta de uma longa mesa, partilhámos queijos tradicionais e linguiça, saboreámos o famoso Bacalhau à Inácio (com cebola caramelizada) e o delicioso Cabrito no forno. A refeição terminou com doces típicos da região, que deram um toque final perfeito.

O que tornou o dia verdadeiramente especial não foi apenas o vinho ou a comida, mas as conversas que perfeitofluíram à mesa, onde fomos ficando sem pressa de terminar este dia perfeito. Tchim-tchim!
