🇬🇧  A Three-Layered Surprise: A Sweet Gesture That Warmed the Hearts of the 2nd Hand Uniforms Volunteers

Last week, the 2nd Hand Uniforms team received a very special surprise: three homemade cakes, gifted by a PaRK community mother in appreciation of the generous and tireless work of the volunteers who make this project possible.

The gift came with a heartfelt message of gratitude and recognition, which read:
"The fantastic mothers who dedicate so much time, intelligence, effort and care to the entire PaRK community have nothing to thank us for. It is we who should be daily grateful for such generosity."

The gesture, as delicious as it was meaningful, carried deep symbolic value. "Receiving those cakes felt like getting a hug," shared one of the volunteers. "It was a moving moment that reminded us that our work, even though it happens behind the scenes, truly impacts the life of the community."

The 2nd Hand Uniforms project, recently highlighted in the school newsletter, promotes the sustainable reuse of school uniforms, saving resources and encouraging mindful practices. The project relies entirely on the voluntary contributions of parents who quietly keep this service running throughout the year.

With small gestures like this — sweet both inside and out — the PaRK Community continues to show it is united by strong values: gratitude, collaboration, and mutual care.

🇵🇹 Uma Surpresa de Três Camadas: Um gesto doce que aqueceu o coração das voluntárias dos 2nd Hand Uniforms

Na semana passada, a equipa dos 2nd Hand Uniforms foi surpreendida com uma entrega muito especial: três bolos caseiros oferecidos por uma mãe da comunidade PaRK, em agradecimento pelo trabalho generoso e incansável das voluntárias que fazem este projeto acontecer.

A oferta veio acompanhada de uma mensagem cheia de afeto e reconhecimento, onde se lia:
"As mães fantásticas que dedicam tanto tempo, inteligência, trabalho e cuidado para toda uma enorme comunidade PaRK, não têm que agradecer. Nós é que temos que ser diariamente gratas por tanta generosidade."

O gesto, além de saboroso, foi profundamente simbólico. "Receber estes bolos foi como receber um abraço", partilhou uma das voluntárias. "Foi um momento de emoção, que nos lembrou que o nosso trabalho, mesmo sendo de bastidores, tem um impacto real na vida da comunidade."

O projeto 2nd Hand Uniforms , recentemente destacado na newsletter da escola, promove a reutilização sustentável de uniformes escolares, poupando recursos e incentivando práticas conscientes. O sucesso do projeto depende inteiramente da entrega voluntária de mães e pais que, de forma silenciosa, mantêm este serviço a funcionar ao longo do ano.
