One Backpack, a New Beginning

🇬🇧  ONE BACKPACK. A NEW BEGINNING

Over the years, the PPA (PaRK Parents Association) has sought to show that school is also a place where we learn to care for others.

This summer, we received a request from SFRAA - Quinta de São Miguel, a residential home that provides a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people who, for a variety of reasons, have been temporarily separated from their families. There, they find a place where they can feel safe again, valued, and full of hope.As the new school year approaches, each of these children needs something as simple and important as a backpack to start the school year with a smile.

If you have a backpack at home that is still in good condition but is no longer being used, it could make a real difference to another child's life.

If you also have school supplies in good condition that are no longer needed (exercise books, pencil cases, pencils, pens, rulers, colouring pencils, felt-tip pens, and other stationery), these would be very gratefully received. Sometimes, the things we no longer need can represent a genuine fresh start for someone else.

Once again, we would like to count on the generosity of PaRK IS families to help turn small acts of kindness into big smiles.

Next Thursday, August 6th, please bring any backpacks and school supplies you no longer need to the Junior School front desk. Together, we can fill these children's hearts with joy!

🇵🇹  UMA MOCHILA. UM NOVO COMEÇO

Ao longo dos anos, a PPA (PaRK Parents Association) tem procurado mostrar que a escola também é um espaço onde se aprende a cuidar do próximo.

Este verão recebemos um pedido da SFRAA - Quinta de São Miguel, uma casa que acolhe crianças e jovens que, por diferentes circunstâncias da vida, foram temporariamente afastados das suas famílias. Ali encontram um lugar seguro, onde podem voltar a sentir-se protegidos, valorizados e cheios de esperança.

Com o aproximar do novo ano letivo, cada uma destas crianças precisa de algo tão simples e tão importante como uma mochila para começar as aulas com um sorriso.

Se em vossa casa existe uma mochila em bom estado que já não é utilizada, ela pode ganhar uma nova vida e fazer uma enorme diferença na vida de outra criança.

Se houver por casa material escolar em bom estado que vai ficando sem uso (cadernos, estojos, lápis, canetas, réguas, lápis de cor, marcadores, e outros) também será muito bem vindo. Por vezes, aquilo que já não nos faz falta pode representar um verdadeiro recomeço para alguém!

Gostaríamos de contar, mais uma vez, com a generosidade das famílias so PaRK IS para transformar pequenos gestos em grandes sorrisos.

Na próxima 5ª feira, dia 6 de agosto, entregue na recepção da Junior School aquela mochila e aquele material escolar que tem em casa e que já não vai usar. Juntos vamos encher aqueles corações de alegria!
